(Stanford) struck in the face with a line-drive while pitching for the
Brewster Whitecaps in the Cape Cod Baseball League. It appears he will
heal and be ready to play again in the fall.

of two upcoming games, including this Friday's game with the Delta Toros has

focusing on the Maxim Yankees during their trip to play the Humboldt Crabs

3-hit shutout over Louisiana Tech in the Spartans WAC opening game.
Dewing also struck out a season high 9 hitters.

- Hitting four homeruns in two
games earns Jimmy Van Ostrand (Cal-Poly) Big West Player of the Week. "V
O" becomes the fifth member of the 2005 Yankees to earn his conference's
honor. He was also named the Louisville Slugger National Player of the
Week.

- Jimmy Van Ostrand (Cal-Poly) had
his second consecutive two-homer day in Poly's win over the Washington
Huskies. He now has 10 bombs for the season, leading the Big West
Conference.

- Jimmy Van Ostrand (Cal-Poly)
homered twice off University of Washington ace Tim Lincecum in a 5-4 Mustang
victory. Van Ostrand pushed his season homer total to 8.

- Branden Dewing (San Jose State)
threw six scoreless innings in a victory over Bethany College. Dewing
improved his record to 4-2, with a WAC leading 1.44 ERA.

- Matt Winck (San Jose State)
picked up his second win in two days, throwing 8.2 innings in the Spartans 6-2
victory over the Portland Pilots. Branden Dewing made his first relief
appearance to his the save. It was also Winck's first start of the season and
the game in which he broke the school record for appearances.

the bottom of the 13th.
