• Branden Dewing (SJSU) tossed a 3-hit shutout over Louisiana Tech in the Spartans WAC opening game.  Dewing also struck out a season high 9 hitters.  Recap  He then earned his second WAC Pitcher of the Week award, the sixth award won by a 2005 Yankee this spring.  Read Here

• Hitting four homeruns in two games earns Jimmy Van Ostrand (Cal-Poly) Big West Player of the Week.  "V O" becomes the fifth member of the 2005 Yankees to earn his conference's honor.  He was also named the Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week.  Story

• Jimmy Van Ostrand (Cal-Poly) had his second consecutive two-homer day in Poly's win over the Washington Huskies.  He now has 10 bombs for the season, leading the Big West Conference.

• Jimmy Van Ostrand (Cal-Poly) homered twice off University of Washington ace Tim Lincecum in a 5-4 Mustang victory.  Van Ostrand pushed his season homer total to 8.  Read here.
• Branden Dewing (San Jose State) threw six scoreless innings in a victory over Bethany College.  Dewing improved his record to 4-2, with a WAC leading 1.44 ERA.

• Matt Winck (San Jose State)  picked up his second win in two days, throwing 8.2 innings in the Spartans 6-2 victory over the Portland Pilots.  Branden Dewing made his first relief appearance to his the save. It was also Winck's first start of the season and the game in which he broke the school record for appearances.  Story

• Ryan Conan drove home the winning run in Santa Clara's 3-2 winning over UC Riverside with two outs in the bottom of the 13th.  Story

• Gary Daley (Cal-Poly) quieted the bats of the San Diego Aztecs with season-high 9 strikeouts in a 11-2 Mustang victory.  Daley is now 2-1 on the season.  Recap

• Branden Dewing (SJSU) improved his record this season to 3-0 with an 8-inning performance against BYU in a 4-1 Spartan victory.  Matt Winck also recored his first save of the season in the contest. Read here

• Gus Milner (Kansas), along with teammate Don Czyz received Big-12 Player and Pitcher of the Week awards for their efforts against the Stanford Cardinal.  Story.  Both players spent parts of the 2005 summer season with the Yankees.  That brings the total to three 2005 Yankees who have received weekly awards from their conference.
